Your Sleep at Night Safety Program

How well do you sleep?

As an Employer or Prime Contractor do you know if you are meeting your company’s workplace safety requirements?  From my experience, many are not sure.  Legislation can be complex and at times difficult to interpret.  That is where I can help.  I am your workplace safety expert.

Imagine having a comprehensive COR or SECOR safety program or safety management system, that allows you to have a resounding “Yes!” to that question. Your heart will not skip quite so many beats should a serious incident occur, and you wonder, “did I do everything that I should have to prevent this”?

I have a long history of providing practical solutions to manage workplace health and safety programs. The comprehensive program I design will be specific to your operation and not an ‘off the shelf’ generic manual. Whether you require in house training programs, digital documentation, digital forms, or a complete safety program, Numbers Safety Inc. can do it all. A key component to the program I supply includes collaboration with all your employees to ensure a safety system that is right for your company and allows you to get a good night’s rest.

Founder of Numbers Safety Inc.

My path to becoming a Safety Professional has been an interesting one to say the least.  After graduating from the Civil Engineering Tech program at NAIT in 1985, my journey began with learning fundamentals about engineering, surveying, and road construction. From there I went on to teach at NAIT in the Civil program, participated in commercial projects, and found employment in residential construction.  All of this has given me a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw on when I help employers solve their complex problems.

Growing up on a farm in rural Alberta meant not only hard work, but finding creative solutions to everyday challenges. As with all farms, there were buildings to construct, things to repair, tools to operate, and the simple pleasure of figuring out how to make things work. Early in my career, I expanded my working knowledge of construction and participated in the finer details of home building including construction of concrete foundations, wood framing and roof formations.

My journey into Safety began when I was working for a residential builder in Edmonton that decided to implement a COR certified program. This was back when the residential industry was known as the Wild, Wild West of construction. To say it was a daunting task is an understatement.  With help from my industry peers, we were able to affect change in the residential industry.  During this process, I found that sharing information and teaching people were both enjoyable and rewarding.  Seeing the ‘light bulb go on’ never gets old.

Some of the highlights from my career in the residential construction industry include being recognized as an ‘Industry Safety Leader’ for the province 3 times; Volunteer of the Year; and receiving an ‘Award of Honour’ for contributions at the local and national level from the Canadian Home Builders Association.

When it was time to move on from managing my company’s OHS, WCB, Insurance and fire codes in 6 cities, located in 3 provinces, I decided to continue this worthwhile occupation by starting my own consulting agency. Numbers Safety was born.

My goal is to assist small to medium sized companies by providing them with tailored safety programs that are specific to their operations and easy for them to manage. There will be no guesswork regarding what to do or when to do it.  It will all be clearly laid out for all to follow.

Call me to discuss your needs and ways I can help.
